Hi! We are Adam and Michelle, your hosts at Birch Bay Lakehouse. We live just outside of Orangeville with our 3 children. For many summers, we spent our time travelling to various provincial and private campgrounds with our travel trailer. Spending time outdoors, relaxing at the lake and making memories around campfires are some of our favourite things to do!
In the summer of 2021 we began our cottage ownership adventure and bought an amazing piece of land on Stewart Lake in Mactier. After about a year of planning and finalizing our cottage plans, we broke ground in October of 2022. While the building process has been stressful at times, it has been so much fun planning and building a Lakehouse that our guests would love just as much as we do! While we did hire contactors to do the main “shell” of the cottage, all of the finishing touches including the rustic shiplap walls, pine ceilings, flooring and exterior siding has all been a labour of love by Adam & Michelle and what we like to call our “village”.
Birch Bay Lakehouse is located on a quiet bay on Stewart Lake. Our shallow, sandy shoreline is perfect for younger kids, and the deeper water off the end of the dock is great for docking your boat or casting your fishing line. It’s the best of both worlds!
A quick 5 minute drive to Mactier you will find a Foodland, Home Hardware, LCBO and a convenience store (with ICE CREAM!)
For those looking to check out some Muskoka hotspots, the lively towns of Port Carling, Bala, Port Severn, Rosseau and Parry Sound are all within 25 minutes of the Lakehouse.a
Fun isn’t limited to the summer months at Birch Bay Lakehouse. Come explore everything Muskoka has to offer during all 4 seasons.
The Lakehouse is just minutes away from ATV trails, snowmobile trails, and hiking trails. For those looking to hit the slopes, Mount St. Louis is about 40 minutes away.
